Entry Level DSLRs Much More Than Basic
The term "entry level" may provide the wrong impression of the lower-cost Digital SLRs from the major camera manufacturers. These DSLRs offer a full range of features and produce very high quality pictures. In some cases, the quality is virtually as good as the cameras from the next tier of prices. Both Canon and Nikon offer very capable cameras at the entry level. There are some interesting cameras offered by some of the other manufacturers as well.

The Canon T2i/550D and the Nikon D90 top the group with very similar features and prices. Overall, the Canon camera is somewhat better but both offer very good value.
